I was surprised to know that there was a path along the shore to help reach the other side of the island. Palawan is a very large island, so I was speaking in terms of El Nido, not the entire island itself. The path is actually not very nice as it didn’t seem to be well maintained. Some parts have already collapsed and were just filled in with rock. Needless to say it wasn’t a very nice experience. Then again, this is what people come to El Nido for – to get away from modern city living. Little surprise that people from the big city of Manila and even other country have started to find out about this place.
Speak of which, when we got to our spot we found an American already waiting there. It seems that he is a photography enthusiast and was trying to take photos of the setting sun. He was dismayed that his secret spot had already been discovered but was still very chatty. Apparently he is here for several weeks and has been coming back to this spot repeatedly, I guess it is that difficult to get a decent photo here. It doesn’t look promising either. The clouds here are too thick to be of use to us. While the sun itself will be setting behind some islands. Oh well, we will see what we can see.
