I climbing up the side of the Bulalacao Falls was too much excitement for me. My friend was already making his way up the mountain alongside the Bualalcao Falls. I was already terrified of continuing on since the rocks in this area seem to be slippery and obviously I do not wish to fall. The falls isn’t actually very tall, but a fall is a fall. With expensive camera in tow and add my clumsiness, falling in to the pool below is not a good idea. I took a few shots of the cascade at this level, which wasn’t as nice as the one below.
It seems that Bulalacao Falls is made up of several cascades. The best one is the bottom one. The rest of the cascades serve as a challenge to the more intrepid adventurer. From what our guide told us, the top of the falls is still a good hour away through the dense jungle. I can’t imagine walking through the jungle for an hour an a half with no easy path to trace. The top of the mountain is the source of the waterfalls here. My friend has already been there an he didn’t really say nice words about that place. There were leeches there and they were even jumping. Seeing that would have probably freaked me out. He told a story of how his companions unknowningly got sucked by a leech until it was fat. This kind of thing I only hear in books to think that I would hear a second hand account of this. If you do decide to venture to the top of the falls, make sure you protect your legs.
