I was quite surprised to see how much busier El Nido seemed to be. The last time I was here, I was mostly confined to the resorts and restaurant area. This time I was in the residential area and I got to see more of the town. It wasn’t outstanding but it was a decent little town. There seemed to be a lot more establishments here, though thankfully enough there are still no shopping malls here. After dinner we took to some exploration, probably a reorientation for me. Much has change here and I wanted to see.
The beach front was surprisingly the same. There were still that same group of restaurants in front. At night, there are tables on the beach for guests to have a nice dinner by the beach. It wasn’t brightly lit at all with much of the light coming from the restaurant itself and a candle on the table. I would have a difficult time trying to see my food here in the darkness, but I guess that is part of the charm of eating by the beach. The tide was rising fast and the tables should be moved out of the way soon. The beach here in El Nido Town itself isn’t very wide nor is it very pretty. Most people just use this as a base for exploring the rest of the area.
