I was at my last stop here in China and I would not stay very long here. I was at the Shenzhen Baoan International Airport en route out of the country. I intend to visit some friends and exit to Hong Kong from here. This was my first time to be at the Shenzhen Baoan International Airport and I was pleasantly surprised how modern it was. I was under the impression that it was an old and run down airport since this place is not that hub that Guangzhou is. Of course all of that is changing now with the rise in importance of Shenzhen as one of China’s premiere cities. Already the city ranks near the top in the country for having the highest standard of living, close second to Shanghai, even that is debatable now.
The airport is not that engineering marvel the Kunming Changshui International Airport is or even nearby Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport. But it is getting there. Already the Terminal Three is in the process of being built and it is probably already operational by the time this post is published. From what I have seen from the designs it looks to be another amazing structure. This kind of phrase seems to be more and more common here. With the growing affluence of China, it is natural that they have some structures to showcase to the world and the airport is usually the place to showcase to the rest of the world.
