Wuhua District is a major commercial district of Kunming along the lines of Wangfujing in Beijing and Nanjing East Road in Shanghai, though it is probably not as famous internationally yet. The streets here are lined with shopping malls and shopping centers filled with the usual Chinese brand names which I have seen all over the place. One wouldn’t really think that this place is not a capitalist system with all these commerce going on. The Wuhua District as several large malls which surround the major square in the district.
There were also street performers here, I don’t know if they are legit or not. There was one which was performing with his dog. Basically saying how bright his dog was and how it can understand human words. I think this is just like the horse who can count which basically was just a horse that can read his masters subtle hints on when to do something. Regardless of this, it was still quite entertaining to see something like this in such a modern setting as a shopping district. It seems people do come here to relax as well, the street here is tree lined and makes for a good walk. I will see what I can find here.
