We managed to get a bus very quickly. The waiting area of the bus wasn’t particularly bad as it seemed that most of the people in the park are from tour groups, this means that they have their own transportation, leaving us folk to use the tourist bus to go back to Kunming. The ride was a short one as it passed through the highway. The two Swedes were still with me as they talked about their plans for their trip in China. They will be going through the same trip I did but in reverse. This is exactly why I wanted to do it in reverse. I go to the furthest point in the trip then work my way back. I do not want to be worrying about any potential delays in my itinerary. At least when I am already in Kunming all I need to worry about is the ride to the airport.
At the Eastern Bus Station in Kunming, the Swedes wanted to take a taxi back to town. The metro still wasn’t completed yet which was a pity as it would have reduced our travel costs. At least there were three of us to split the taxi fare, not too bad. We were dropped off at somewhere near my hostel, I think. At least I think I know how to get back. There was a major shopping area nearby and I thought I want to check it out. We exchanged contacts and said our farewells. I continued on to explore Kunming, this would be my last night in Kunming and I guess I should make the most of it.
