Lovely Row of Restaurants at Dali Ancient Town 大理古城
I was very pleased with my new hotel where I got a dorm bed with the room all to myself. One of the staff at the hotel likewise recommended me to eat at this vegetarian place where I got to eat all I can for a princely sum of CNY 5. Actually, I have pretty much explored most of Dali Ancient Town so I went back to the hotel to rest, it was my vacation after all. After that I decided to explore the immediate area of the hotel. This seems to be a livelier area compared to the other hostel I stayed at.

What I immediately noticed is that there is much more water here. I reminded me a bit of Lijiang with water flowing throughout the town, however, this was on a much smaller scale. The water here flows though some fancy restaurants and bars. A bit totally unexpected since this place was supposed to be a heritage area. Anyway, the restaurant row here was very well made with outdoor seating sometimes making it a little hard for passers-by to walk through the area. It wasn’t night time yet but I think this place will be jumping by the time darkness falls.
