I kind of figured out that this was the place to go for views over Lijiang Ancient Town since I noticed a pagoda which lords it over the town. It was by pure luck that I ran into the view point here. I decided to continue on with my exploration of Lijiang Ancient Town. The viewpoint I was at was actually near Lijiang town’s highest point – Lion Hill. You can easily spot this from town. There are also numerous signs which point the way to the Lion Hill.
The way to Lion Hill is very straightforward and you can see numerous establishments have viewing decks for visitors. It really is a nice view here and I like the fact that it is quiet in this part of town. You just need a little bit of walking to get to the noisier parts of town. Food is not that plentiful here and most of those places will be below. Still it is a great pleasure to wake up and see the whole of Lijiang Ancient Town below you.
