I have been hiking for more than two hours and I was quite wet from the intermittent rain which kept trying to ruin my day. I wasn’t sure if I had an actual goal here. The road which I was hiking on is known as the lower road and it stretched from Qiaotou to who knows where for almost two hundred kilometers. If I would need a landmark to know to stop, this would be a very good time to find out where it was. While there was a sign earlier telling me that this was the Upper Tiger Leaping Gorge I wasn’t sure where I was supposed to turn back. I figured that I need to keep walking until I get tired or eventually find the landmark.
Well, the landmark did show up. There was viewing deck at the Upper Tiger Leaping Gorge. This place would be hard to miss as long as one was travelling the lower road. The viewing deck is right before a tunnel which I assume leads to the Middle Tiger Leaping Gorge. I decided I would end my hike here, I have no idea how far the Middle Tiger Leaping Gorge will be nor do I know whether there is a way for me to get back. The Upper Tiger Leaping Gorge looks like a busy place, surely I would be able to find a ride back to town.
