I was kind of hoping there would be more people visiting the Tiger Leaping Gorge. The Tiger Leaping Gorge by the way is one of Yunnan’s top attractions. It is also one of the major activities to do when visiting Yunnan province. The hike to the Tiger Leaping Gorge is normally tackled by a two or three day hike depending on your stamina. However, since I was alone, I didn’t want to risk anything happening so this will only be a whole afternoon affair for me. Based of my research, the hike is only around ten kilometers, not too bad for me. There weren’t any people hiking here.
Most of the very few people I saw on the road were people who were heading home, probably to some village along the way. The only large group of foreigners I saw went off another trail, the upper one. I was taking the main road, and I have no idea whether this was the right path to take, but I do know that I was on my way to the gorge itself. It seems that people visiting the gorge will be taking some kind of transport here. The fare should not be too much since it is only ten kilometers. I didn’t mind the walk since there seems to be nice scenery here, the weather is cool so I should not be a problem for me. Although, the dark clouds might pose a problem for me.
