It was a bad start for me here at Lijiang Ancient Town. It was raining the whole morning and I really just wanted to stay in the guest house and sleep, after all, I still have several days left here in Lijiang. It is a big ancient town and there are lots of places to see here and around the area, hopefully the weather will clear up. In the meantime, while I was content to just stay in the restaurant and just people watch. Part of me was also thinking that I need to get moving. Maybe there would be something interesting to see.
What immediately impressed me about Lijiang was how green the place was. There were a lot of trees here which provide a nice touch in the ancient town. Other ancient towns only feature the old houses it is nice to see there here and it really improves the image. It would appear that the tour groups still haven’t assembled yet at is feels like there was nobody here. The southern side of the town doesn’t feel quieter and I guess I like it that way.
