I was very delighted to be having dinner here at the Soyala Tibetan Diner. This seemed to be a very well designed restaurant. There were tables where you can imagine yourself having coffee while reading your favorite book. There are also seats outside the restaurant itself if you want to hear what is going on outside. I was a bit embarassed to interrupt the early dinner of the staff but then again, business is business.
I ordered a simple dinner of yak stew. I have been having yak meat for the past few days and I think this will be the last one since I will be leaving for the next town the following day. My yak stew was exactly as you would expect. It is basically beef stew. The meat was surprisingly soft and tasty, probably because of the stew it was cooked in. The stew contained a lot more potatoes than yak meat though, it might be because they were saving money as yak meat would be more expensive. To flush it all down, I had some Shangrila Beer. It seems like the beer is also brewed by them as they were the first ones I saw carrying the brand.
The staff didn’t seem to mind me since they were busy having their dinner, but I didn’t really care. I could sit here the rest of the day and I would have been fine with it. I was wondering why I didn’t come here sooner.
