I was almost the end of the day and I was thinking of having an early dinner. The ancient town of Dukezong has a lot of restaurants to choose from. I have been having Tibetan food almost exclusively here and I don’t really mind since this is something I hardly get elsewhere. Probably because I am travelling alone, I don’t get to try much more stuff than I wanted to. Another small plaza in Dukezong has a small chorten. It was in this square where I found my dinner.
The Soyala Tibetan Diner is one of these restaurants and it has a very homey feel to it. It was like a log cabin and it seems to be family operated. The interiors of the restaurant are quite well done, and they also have large windows to see what is happening outside. This also help keep out the cold when winter starts. When I got there it seemed like the staff were also starting to have dinner. They were all gathered at one table and most of them were already eating, except for one, since I needed to order.
