From the entrance of the Diqing Tibetan Museum, it would seem that this wasn’t really a very interesting place. But I really have my hopes up what with that lackluster museum just across the plaza. The Diqing Tibetan Museum is a showcase of Tibetan culture. Right upon entry one would already be greeted by numerous Tibetan paintings. Most of these paintings were religous themed. After all, large portion of their culture has been shaped by their religion, they even have their own branch of Buddhism.
The museum wasn’t exactly very big, and one could go through it very quickly, it was unfortunate that photography wasn’t allowed inside the museum. There were some impressive works of art displayed here. There were parts which showcase the Tibetan way of life including their tools and their clothing. At the end of the museum tour, there was a Tibetan medicine hall. You can have yourself checked for ailments if you so desire. I don’t really trust Eastern medicine that much so I politely declined them.
