Guishan in Dukezong Ancient Town features a Tibetan temple which is probably one of the more important places to see in this area. The town of Dukezong itself while very attractive, features a lot of shops which is the inevitable fate of any place which becomes well known in the Chinese tourist circuit. I would be nice to have a real old town where people would just go about their lives. But then again, it might not be as convenient since there won’t be a lot of shops or restaurants around. Anyway, the Guishan Tibetan Temple has two main halls one of which I have already passed. The temple itself wasn’t particularly large since there wasn’t much space on top of the hill. Still they have managed to make it interesting enough for visitors to come to.
The temple overlooks the town here and it is probably the reason why it was built here in the first place. Though not really that high, the hill has the best view of the surrounding area. There weren’t a lot of worshippers here either, maybe there is a time of the year when they come? The rest of the crowd seems to be in a different location, and I think I already have an idea where they are. For now, I will be exploring the place while there are still not a lot of people.
