The thought of going up to the top of a mountain intrigued me. So much that I decided to hire a van to bring me there. I was picturing myself looking above the clouds and seeing the snow covered tops of other holy mountains in the vicinity. I was meaning to visit one of the holiest mountains here but decided against it for fear of high altitude sickness. I would have wanted to go with someone I know. That would have to be a trip for another time.
Shika Snow Mountain was a huge disappointment for me as you can see in my earlier posts. The weather wasn’t cooperating at the time of my visit and there was no snow either despite its name. As if to console me, there was a discount for the entrance fee to Shika Snow Mountain, probably precisely because there was no snow and no view to be seen on top. I don’t know if I would have been different had I lingered on a little longer at the time. The grassy plain was a nice little distraction for me since I was the first time I have been to such a large place. The lesson learned here is to visit when the weather is better. Supposedly around October or November would be good. December would be nice too but it might be too cold already.
