The Shika Snow Mountain may be quite picky when it allows people to see from the top but at least the rest of the mountain is still quite welcoming. It was interesting to see how the plant life on the mountains changes as the altitude changes. I have lived on sea level all my life so I was interesting to see things as mundane as this. The lower altitude plants were all very rich with evergreens providing abundant color in this landscape. This is better appreciated from the cable car where I was frantically trying to take photos of the ever changing landscape.
This was in total contrast to the top of the mountain which was interestingly still had plant life but mostly grass was there. It seems to be in such abundance at that altitude that the yak somehow managed to find their way to the top to graze on them. The rare tree that was there was dead, at least the ones that I could see. The midway cable car station was fast approaching and I was thinking of exploring that grassy field I found earlier. This was something I don’t see everyday, I think it is maybe worth a look.
