The sun was quickly going down at Kuala Terengganu and we were still at the Crystal Mosque which seemed to be in an unconvenient place in the city. While we were still taking photos of the mosque, trying catch the last rays of light from the sun, I was worrying about how to get back to the bus terminal. There didn’t seem to be any public buses here. People claim there is but I didn’t see any. It could be the bus services stop at a certain time of the day and since it was already sunset, maybe it has already stopped. So now were were kinda stuck here. Taxis would never come here looking for passengers and this doesn’t seem to be a place where people would come to after sundown.
Earlier in the afternoon, there were a few taxi drivers asking us to hire their services, of course we didn’t take them since we just got there. Now, they are nowhere in sight, no more people, no more taxis. It was then that I noticed that there was a taxi parked at the entrance to the Crystal Mosque. Upon talking to the driver he said that he was waiting for a passenger who hire him but they still haven’t returned. He said he was willing to take us to the bus terminal since it was nearby. I heaved a sigh of relief that we finally found transportation. My friend, curiously was not a bit anxious about the whole incident. I still have work the following day, so I can’t really afford to miss my bus. Then again, my friend would lose his plane ticket if he missed the bus. In no time we were whisked off to the bus terminal. We had dinner at the McDonald’s nearby while waiting for our bus to arrive. We purchased our return tickets a couple of days before so we won’t have to scramble for tickets afterwards. Our buses arrived almost at the same time, I would be heading to Singapore, while he would be heading to Kuala Lumpur. It was a tiring couple of days but I think it was well worth the trouble to get here.
