Before leaving for Kuala Besut, we asked around how to catch the bus back to Kuala Terengganu, the instructions from the jetty walk back to the bridge and at the corner we would see a hardware store, we should wait there. We had some time after lunch and we decided to walk around the Kuala Besut Jetty area. As it turns out, there is a small bus station very near the jetty and there are services which go all the way to Kuala Lumpur. That would be perfect for my friend, but not for me. I still needed to go back to Kuala Terengganu to catch my bus back home. Frustratingly, that bus station wasn’t of any use to me anyway, since there was no bus heading to Kuala Terengganu from here. I don’t really quite understand it but this was how they set up the bus station.
If you want to go to the bus station at Kuala Besut, it is not near the jetty. You would need to go to the market area, but it might be a little tricky for people not familiar with the place. I don’t see local buses plying the roads here so we don’t know how to get there. Anyway, it seems that everybody agrees to go and wait at the hardware store, just that they don’t agree on the time. Some say it is 2pm, some say it is 1:30pm. Better early than late, right? The hardware store was right there as described and wasn’t difficult to find. There was a small waiting shed across the street but we didn’t bother using it, the sun kept creeping on us as it came lower and lower, and we kept inching and inching closer to the hardware store which happened to be open. We are very tempted to just go in the store for some shade, but of course that would be rude.

Where is the bus stop(hardware shop) you refer? Would you mind marking it on a google map? Thanks!

it is right there on the center of the map. the one with the red roof in the intersection.
Sorry, do you refer to the red box or blue circle in the map? See https://fbcdn-sphotos-a-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-frc3/t1.0-9/10308294_10154121665095576_7921415416865234193_n.jpg Thanks!
hi steven, it’s the red box. hopefully, it hasn’t changed much since i last visited.
if i was not mistaken it was a quite near a path which leads to the other side of the island. you can probably just ask around for kasman, he is probably known in that area. i agree, that is great value added service for him. i’m surprised not everyone is doing it. he did spend a bit for his camera and underwater case.
Thanks so much!
thank you for visiting!
