We schedule our departure from Perhentian Kecil at around half past twelve. There aren’t too many trips from the island back to the mainland to it makes sense to book ahead of time and make sure you get on your boat. Your resort should be able to assist you on this. I think they call and inform how many people will be taking the ferry back to the mainland. It is also prudent to be at the jetty before the appointed time just in case there is a mixup.
It was at the height of noon when we were lugging out stuff to the jetty. There were others also on their way to the jetty, how do I know? They were dragging their luggage through the sand, not exactly the best way to go backpacking. Honestly, I find it a bit silly how people would bring wheeled luggage to the beach. Maybe it was their first time there but I guess they are learning a hard lesson here when they start removing the sand from the wheels.
