After that rather lengthy lunch break at the fishing village at Perhentian Kecil, we continued on our island hopping tour. It wasn’t really island hopping since we were only going from one Perhentian Kecil and Perhentian Besar and back. The sun was very hot and I wasn’t really in the mood for snorkeling anymore. I was quite tired already from the tour and each place seems to be quite similar anyway, there was little to distinguish them. We found ourselves heading back to Coral Bay. However, we weren’t docking yet, instead it was more snorkeling. This time it was at the lighthouse off the coast of Coral Bay. I saw this lighthouse from the beach itself and I was wondering how to get there. I did see some people playing there and thought it might be an interesting place to visit.
Alas my swimming skills weren’t good enough to bring me there but I was fortunate that the tour included a visit by the lighthouse. Upon arrival at the lighthouse, there were already a lot of people there. This was already mid-afternoon. The lighthouse was not very tall probably around three to four stories at the most. There were ladders for visitors to climb to all levels of the lighthouse, including one all the way to the top. The lighthouse was a magnet for daredevils who, like kids, like to jump off from the lighthouse into the sea. Most of the people were jumping from the first level, however more adventurous ones will jump from the top level, some even performing sommersaults. It was fun to see this and even more fun to egg the divers on. I wonder how deep this place actually was.
