We crammed ourselves into a small boat which was enough for around fifteen people. Most of the passengers were foreigners which was good as the tour will be conducted in English. The locals here are well versed in English so there was no problem communicating with them. Our speed boat roared into the sea and we quickly got used to the speed of the boat and the constant bumps we would encounter on the sea. I was already wearing my life vest as a safety precaution since I wasn’t really very good in swimming, who knows when the speed boat would just flip over because of the speed. We approached our destination and the waters became shallower, evidently, this was a place for snorkeling – Turtle Beach.
I reluctantly jumped into the water, with my life vest of course, and quickly got used to moving without land. I tried using the snorkel to try to get a hang of it. I always dreaded using it since I would instinctively breathe in with my nose only to find that you can’t. This causes me to panic but after a few minutes of calming myself down, I got the hang of it and I was happily floating in the crystal clear waters here. Since I was wearing a life jacket, I couldn’t really dive to get a closer look at stuff. From above it was already nice, the coral here were numerous and of course the fish were too. Our boatman, Kazman, was taking photos for us, and I would be crediting these underwater photos to him.
