It was a great introduction to the Perhentian Islands. Our speed boat soon docked at the jetty at the Perhentian Kecil or Small Island. Already, the waters around the jetty were crystal clear and our co-passengers were just as excited as we are. The jetty will also serve as our departure area when we decide to head back to mainland Malaysia. We only need to make sure we get there before the scheduled time of departure. In our case it was 12:30pm, you might need to call ahead to make sure there will be enough boats on that day. Other passengers were also waiting on the jetty to get on the trip back to the mainland.
As the boat sped away, my friend and I quickly got to work. Pulling out our cameras that is. The island looked so beautiful that we couldn’t wait to find a place to stay before we start taking photos. The crystal clear waters of the island were so inviting, I would have just took off my shirt and just jumped into the water. That is, until I remembered that my swimming skills aren’t exactly top notch. For now, we will just be taking photos. I don’t feel like swimming right now, maybe later in the afternoon. For now, I will just try to enjoy the sights.
