Somehow we can’t really keep to our schedule. My friend normally has all our schedule fixed but all of that has gone out the window. We started late since I got to Kuala Terengganu late in the morning. Then our bus which was scheduled to arrive at 10am arrived an hour later. Now, upon our arrival at Kuala Besut, we learn that the next ferry will only be at 2:30pm due to afternoon prayers, it was a Friday. So with our schedule all ruined, there wasn’t really much choice here but to wait it out.
The Kuala Besut jetty seemed to be fairly new, at least it doesn’t look like it is falling apart. It wasn’t super modern either, I guess it fits the laidback nature of the area. The sun was bearing down on us and it was very hot. Fortunately, there were shades and some seats for waiting. The area is filled with jetty ticket agents. I don’t really get it why one would buy from one and not the other since they all have the same price. We bought return tickets for MYR 75. Quite affordable if you think about it.
