With a few more hours to spend here in Kuala Terengganu, we decided to do a little exploring here in the city. We immediately head out back to where the bus let me off. Actually, most tourists visiting Kuala Terengganu come here to visit the famous Pulau Redang. Redang is probably Malaysia’s most famous island paradise. Unfortunately, this fame has increased the prices of visiting the island. It was also because of this fame that my bus dropping me off at the Shahbandar Jetty, which is the jumping off point to Pulau Redang. I remembered this spot so I recommended to my friend that we start our exploration there. The Shahbandar Jetty is probably just like any other jetty. There were a few fast boats docked with numerous tourists boarding the boats. We will not be boarding them as we will be going somewhere else.
It was nice to walk along the vicinity of the Shahbandar Jetty as you get to see the nice sea here in Kuala Terengganu. The state of Terengganu is at the east shore of the far north of peninsular Malaysia. This is already almost at the border with southern Thailand. This was my first time here in the state so I hope it was worth coming here. This early in the morning, people were already up and walking about the promenade area of the jetty. We didn’t bother checking out the jetty itself lest we be chased out for not going to Pulau Redang.
