It was a gloomy day at Sentosa and a look at the horizon says that it will be raining soon. I was already at the beach in Sentosa and I just crossed the bridge to one of the Artifical Barrier Island here. I was thinking that the islands might have been built not only to protect the beach goers from the any waves that might come (a large number of ships are nearby), but also to protect the beach itself from eroding into the sea, lest it be exposed for what it really is.
From the islands you get a glimpse of what is among Singapore’s most southerly points. The waters are pleasantly blue green in color and I was hoping that at least the sky would cooperate and give me blue skies but it was not to be. There were a few people on the island with me and some were even having a picnic on the island. It was a nice place to be after all, the nice sea breeze makes for a comfortable place to hangout. After spending about an hour on the island, I head back to the mainland, lest the approaching rains come. True enough within half an hour of leaving the artifical island, heavy rain poured. It was sort of a downer to be rained out when you are on the beach but the people there didn’t seem to mind it. It seems that nothing would stop them from having fun.
