The weather wasn’t exactly very sunny when I visited Sentosa, in fact it was threatening to rain at that point. However, this will not stop me from exploring some parts of the island. I love going to the beach, and I try to go there whenever the opportunity permits. Sentosa wasn’t exactly the white sand beach I had in mind. I remember feeling how fake it was when I first visited as the white sand on the beach gave way to gray sand after some digging. It seems like it was just dumped on top of the gray sand for appearances. Fast forward ten years and Sentosa has now been remade. I didn’t bother digging into the sand as I just might be disappointed again. Maybe they dumped more white sand purchased from some third world country on it so digging won’t be a problem.
There were a lot of visitors that day, it was a weekend. I lazily made my way across the beach, trying to make my way into one of the artificial barrier islands. I marveled at the deep blue green color of the water as I was crossing the sea. I really never seen the water here with that shade, perhaps the barrier islands help to protect the silt from getting kicked up. It was fun to just hang around the bridge to look at the beach. There weren’t that much fish to be seen here though. Anyway, it was a great idea to build this bridge to the artificial island so visitors won’t have to get wet to get there if they don’t want to. Wait, wasn’t that the whole point of going to the beach?
