I was very pleased with the new bus station of Kuala Lumpur at Bandar Tasik Selatan. The building was very modern and it sort of makes you forget that you are at public building. The process of buying a ticket is very straightforward, for foreigners, this is easy since the staff speak English, most of them that is. With my ticket in hand, it was only a matter waiting for the bus. My bus won’t be arriving until an hour so I have time to spare. I specifically timed the bus ride so that I will still have time to rest when I get home. My laundry has already piled up over the weeks I was in China and I still have work the next day! The last time I tried doing a midnight trip from Kuala Lumpur to Singapore was horrible as it left me with no strength to work the next day.
The waiting area of the bus station was Bandar Tasik Selatan was similar to Puduraya Bus Station. The seats are all brand new and very clean, although I think there might not be enough seats as they didn’t seem to be very generous in that regard. There were some shops at the waiting area and I was trying to see what I can buy here while waiting for my bus. The station was air-conditioned so it is very comfortable to wait here. I can’t easily walk back and forth since I have large bags with me. I was just staring at the electronic sign while waiting for my bus to arrive. Beyond the glass doors was the bus loading area. There are strict rules on staying too long in the waiting area since another bus will be coming. If a bus stays too long, a sign is displayed electronically, and there is a very bright light that is flashed at the driver. That is how you get rid of someone.
