It was a mild disappointment to know that there were no Singapore bound buses at the Puduraya Bus Station, however, it wasn’t totally unexpected. The last time I was in Malaysia I had to travel to a temporary bus station, actually at that time the stadium parking lot, to catch a bus bound for Singapore. I was just taking a chance to see if there were any buses which leave from here. It seems that the Puduraya Bus Station now serves mostly northern destinations. For southern destinations, I need to go to Bandar Tasik Selatan Bus Station. Kuala Lumpur’s rail network serves the bus station and conveniently enough there was a train station behind the Puduraya Bus Station.
From Plaza Rakyat station I travelled all the way to the Bandar Tasik Selatan Bus Station conveniently also on the same line, just make sure you get on train going to Sri Petaling, as this is the one which goes to the bus station. The trains were thankfully not crowded and it was nice and clean. I had a good look at Kuala Lumpur from here and it was actually fun. I was glad that they built all this connectivity so it would be convenient to travelers, even though it is not perfect, it is good enough. If only other countries would do the same.
