It was the end of my trip in China, at least for now. I will be leaving the country but I will go to another city to take my flight. It will be another very long trip back home so I was bracing myself for the tiring journey. This was why I hate moving from place to place. I guess it really gets to you after a while. My train will depart from Beijing South Railway Station, I didn’t purchase any ticket as I know that there will be a lot of trips available. I wasn’t really planning to taking a particular time’s trip either as long as I have enough time for my flight out. I will be travelling to the municipality of Tianjin, which is one of the four city-provinces in China, the others being – Beijing, Shanghai and Chongqing.
I have been to Beijing South Railway Station in a previous trip and I was quite familiar with it. I was surprised to see that there were already changes made when I was last here. For one, purchasing of high speed train tickets can no longer be made via kiosk, you can only do this if you have a local identification card. Perhaps it was a loophole that makes people untraceable. Anyway, foreigners will need to go to the counter to purchase tickets now. The departure area now seems to be a little more crowded with the addition of more shops here. I wasn’t particularly interested in any of these merchandise and I just went people watching at the same time dreading the fast approaching day where I need to go back to work.
