The Yuanmingyuan Park is probably the largest garden I have ever been to. I have been to the classical gardens at Suzhou and they were pretty, but when it comes to raw size, Yuanmingyuan Park has them beat. The Yuanmingyuan Park has all the elements of a classical Chinese garden, much of which I have already seen, but it still delights me no end to see how beautifully they are done. The Yuanmingyuan Park has numerous bodies of water and there used to be a lot of beautiful bridges crossing the streams before they were destroyed by the invading British troops.
It is but inevitable that these bodies of water become inhabited by wildlife. As I was approaching a body of water in the park, on the other side, there were this group of visitors enjoying themselves. It seems that they were trying to feed some birds at the park. Upon closer inspection, I realized that they were swan and their chicks. It seems that they have made this place their home and there seems to be a steady supply of food provided by some two legged creatures. I hardly ever get to see swan so please forgive me if this seems a little mundane.
