I still have half the day to spend here in Ji’an city before leaving for my next destination. Apart from the archeological sites found in and around the city, there aren’t really much places to visit here in Ji’an. I decided to see what else can be seen here. It is a very quiet city and everything is orderly. Just near the bus station was a large park. I wasn’t really sure but it was probably another one of those public parks which Chinese cities usually have. There was a large rock with the name of the park inscribed on it – Ji’an Archeological Park 集安遗地公园.
The park looks much like any other park as I have passed by this park several times. There were exercise machines for the elderly and some paths for “hiking”. What stood out for me was the present of canals in the perimeter of the park. When I think of canals, I think of drainage canals that are usually found close to the sidewalk. This one was part of the park and it drains into small “lakes” which is part of the features of the park. I thought it was a very nice touch to put something like that.
