I walked back to the car with my ever-smiling driver/guide eagerly awaiting my return. He asked me how it was and he informed me that we will be making our final stop. I supposed that it was going to be another one of those tombs. I had quickly lost interest in the tombs after seeing so many of them looking the same. Piles and piles of rocks which generally look the same. He told me that we will be visiting the General’s Tomb. Although it sounds important, how could this one be more important than the Taiwang Tomb, which was made for a king?
In my mind, I was already having images of another large burial mound devoid of coffins or corpses. Visitors will also be just as unlikely. I was surprised that the place actually had a parking lot of its own. The Taiwang Tomb on the other hand only had the side of the road as parking space. Maybe this one was more important than I thought it was. I made my way to the ticket booth where I had my through ticket scanned, it is quite convenient these through tickets. As I don’t have to queue up to purchase individual ones for each site. Not that there will be a lot of competition though.
