Pavillion Holding the Haotaiwang Stele 好太王碑
I vaguely remember the list of places which my guide was planning to bring me to. However, I could not associate them with any Chinese characters as I was under the assumption that the places here rattled off where Korean names. My guide stayed behind the car as I entered the premises of the tourist area. I wasn’t sure what I will be seeing here. Or maybe my mind is wonder if it was a good idea to leave my bag with the car together with the guide. The words which the on-site guide was reciting didn’t really sink in, compounding my difficulties with the Chinese language.
Entering the Haotaiwang Stele Pavillion 好太王碑
It seems that I will be visiting on of the important archeological sites in the Koguryo Kingdom. The on site tour should be helpful to anyone visiting the site, but it is only in Chinese and with the guide rattling off a series of names which I wasn’t even vaguely familiar with, I found myself quickly tuning out and just nodding politely while she continued on. She didn’t seem to have an idea that I was a foreigner and it probably didn’t really matter to her anyway, she will still get paid for this and I give her extra credit for diligently doing her job. There won’t be a lot of visitors these days as winter approaches so she was probably happy to show anyone around.
