I checked into the Luming Hotel sometime after noon, there was a UNESCO site here in Ji’an city but I didn’t think there was enough time for me to visit it. I decided to take some time exploring the city. I remember seeing some mountains just as we were entering the city so I thought there might be some nice views to see there. I walked down the road to where I thought I can see the mountains. The city was small but still quite orderly. It wasn’t cosmopolitan by any means as there weren’t even tall buildings to begin with. As I drew nearer my destination, the buildings were even shorter and I think there were more restaurants, I might drop by here in the evening.
In front of me, was a mountain range in contrast to the city that is Ji’an. There was a river below, conveniently, there was a promenade area which was built long the length of the river. This was the Yalu River. I have heard about this river way back when I was studing Chinese geography and I was surprised that I would actually get to visit it. The Yalu River as you can imagine is the major river here in the city of Ji’an. There were platforms which extend from the promenade area near the water. It seems that people can get boat rides from these platforms. Perhaps it was already too cold since there no boats anywhere. No sooner than I thought about this, when a speed boat suddenly came speeding along the river.
