From the Haerbin Railway Station, I purchased tickets to get to my next destination, the city of Changchun in nearby Jilin province. I got the D107 train, the D means it is a high speed train but it is not the bullet train ones, either way it is fast enough for me as the trip will only take two hours. The train leaves at 0905 and in two hours will arrive at Changchun. There are numerous trips from Haerbin to Changchun so I was not worried about missing the train.
I was getting spoiled by the comfort and convenience of high speed rail travel in China. I would have normally taken the bus from city to city but the high speed railway system here is just too convenient. The price was CNY 72 which was quite affordable. There is not really reason to go for the slow train and all the discomfort it brings. Whenever the budget allows, I usually take the high speed train as it will save me more time just getting there. After all the difference between the high speed train from the bus will probably be minimal considering the speed and convenience it provides. I didn’t even get to sleep here since before I knew it, we were already arriving at Changchun, my next destination.
