The Jile Temple grounds is by no means small, it is not massive either unlike some of the more tiring ones in China. The Jile Temple was primary built to cater to the Buddhist needs of the people of Haerbin who are overwhelmingly Chinese. After the Russians left, the churches were abandoned but the Jile Temple remained strong. I may have not stayed in Haerbin that long but I have never seen a church or cathedral open here, but the Jile Temple is still alive and kicking. The Jile Temple is quite typical of temples that it has several halls where people can visit and pray.
The Jile Temple has a few halls but I merely breezed through them. The architecture isn’t really that inspiring that I just merely took some photos of the temple and moved on. Kind of reminds me of the time my friend was with me in Shanghai and Hangzhou. This time there was no one pushing me to move on. The temple looked like any other temple here and isn’t really that old either so there wasn’t much history to drown myself on. It looks like I would have to content myself with this temple and just observe how people go about their daily lives.
