A View of the Haerbin Nangang Christian Church From the Inside
The Haerbin Nangang Christian Church is a nice little church, and sort of an oasis amidst the hectic city life that surrounds it. I saw that the door was ajar and I invited myself itside the Church. It was small and there were two rows of pews on both sides of the Church. The was an altar in front as well. I startled an old lady who seemed to be the caretaker of the place. She was actually very happy to see a visitor at this odd hour of the day.

I asked her if it was okay to take photos of the place and she agreed. She was quite curious about me as well since my Chinese sort of gave me away. She probably doesn’t have a lot of foreigners dropping by here. I told her that I was not Protestant but it was okay with her. She even invited me to participate in their service on Sunday, but I would have alreadly left by then. Instead she gave me a pamphlet about their activities and hoped that the next time I dropped by Haerbin I would be able to join them. Really nice of her.
