Wansan Pig Hoof at Zhou Zhuang
We arrived in Zhouzhuang some time past noon, we were delighted to see the old style houses in Zhouzhuang, and that was just at the entrance. However, it was time for lunch, fortunately for us, there were a few restaurants here. Most of the them sell the same stuff and I have no idea which is the better restaurant. We randomly wandered into a restaurant which had people eating and found that it was clean. We were then led upstairs where we got a good view of the entrance of Zhouzhuang.
Inside the Restaurant at Zhouzhuang 周庄
I have only eaten here in Zhouzhuang once and it was also a late lunch. I had a simple Wansan Pig Hoof which I discovered to be not as nice as it looks. I was having second thoughts about eating that thing again but I remember that my friends haven’t had that yet. My friend was worried since we will be having some sinful food again, she was saying that she was sure to gain weight from all this eating. Well, might as well enjoy it since we hardly ever get to come here.
Free Roaming Chicken at Zhouzhuang 周庄
Zhouzhuang is famous for the Wansan Pig Hoof which is basically pig foot which was braised. This time it was actually nice, tasty and very tender. This was in sharp contrast to the one I had in a nearby restaurant. We also ordered some kind of chicken dish which was basically free roaming chicken, which is some sort of a rarity in the modern cities of today. It wasn’t very tasty though as I like my food strong in taste. Still it was a good meal plus we got a good view of the area.
