I reminded my friend not to lose her ticket again, as she has a prepensity to lose stuff. This time she didn’t. We finally boarded the train and I was pleased by the knowledge that I will riding this train again. My friends have already experienced an even faster train when they got to Shanghai by taking the maglev from Shanghai Pudong International Airport to the city. The trains were not unlike airplanes but they were much roomier. I can’t imagine my friend riding the ordinary Chinese trains, she’ll probably never speak to me again if I made her ride one.
And just like trains they also have train attendants who will attend to you every need. The train left on schedule and we were off to Hangzhou. It will only be a short ride taking us less than an hour to get to Hangzhou. My friend was saying that the train doesn’t feel fast at all. Indeed, I didn’t really feel that it was that fast, but that it largely due to the slow acceleration of the train that she can’t feel it. Without us realizing it, we will be travelling more than 200km/hour topping at 295km/hour. I remember it used to be faster, but it seemed that with the accident a few months before, the speeds of the trains have been lowered to “safer” levels. Just make sure you don’t sit in the front car to be safe.
