I finally met up with my friend that night and to my dismay, they have already been to the Bund. I was kinda looking forward to going to the Bund with them but I arrived too late. Actually, I was still eating when I found out there were still there at the Bund, but no matter. In the end, I didn’t get to visit the Bund at all for this trip. I already had tons of photos of the Bund from my last trip I don’t think I will be needing more.
I was dog tired by the time they got back to the hostel, it was already their second day in China and I just got there from Singapore – Kuala Lumpur – Tianjin – Shanghai, I was travelling for almost an entire day! I slept soundly that night looking forward to exploring Shanghai with my friend. It was her first time in Shanghai and I advised here to go to the places I have already gone to in the first two days so I don’t have to repeat much. I was surprised to learn that they actually took a ride on the Hangpu River cruise. I probably won’t be doing that though. Additionally, she seemed to have a penchant for losing stuff, as she also lost her ticket to the Orient Pearl Tower 明珠塔 worth CNY 100. Ouch.
The next day, we met up at the appointed time and set out. It was not that cold yet, but I was already wearing my jacket just in case. She wasn’t really dressed well for the cold as she would later find out. Our first destination was one place I didn’t visit the previous time. It was the Shanghai Museum. It was near the People’s Park, we could have walked all the way to the museum from the hostel but we still took the subway, it was actually just one station away and I would have wanted to see the street instead of the subway, but no matter.
It was drizzling that day and going to the museum would be the perfect place to avoid the rain and the cold. The museum building wasn’t really that spectacular, it was rather very Chinese in design. However, there was a queue forming outside the museum door. My friend, ever the worrywart, rush to the queue to ensure our place in the museum.
