I wasn’t a very eventful day in Shanghai, but that was because I didn’t have any real plans in the first place. Surprisingly, despite not having any real plans, I managed to visit quite a few interesting places. This I got by walking around borders of Peope’s Square. Shanghai is an engaging blend of old and new. Much of old Shanghai is still thankfully preserved but the relentless onslaught of progress will probably won’t be stopped. Then again, there is the massive Pudong area to expand into, it is already hosting to two of the country’s tallest buildings, soon to be three.
Unfortunately, for me it was taking a while to get dark here. The temperature was dropping fast and the breeze from the river was picking up. I didn’t have a place to sit where I was, so I just waited it out. I was waiting for the lights to turn on at the Pudong area and hopefully get a great photo of dusk here in Shanghai. But it was overcast and I didn’t get to see the sun this time. Oh well, I just hope that the light show will be well worth it.
