The Dongtai Street Antique Market was certainly a pleasant surprise, most especially since I found it just randomly walking around in the massive city of Shanghai. Exiting the grounds of the antique market leads me to a major road where there seems to be a market. As I said, I was just randomly walking around and looking at things of interest. I only have a vague idea of where I was, I was figuring that, as long as I can see some tall landmark, I would know where I was.
The market turned out to be some kind shopping center with a lot of small shops around it. There were small shops for tea drinking, a few flower shops too. But most interestingly, this was a pet market. Technically, this is a flower and bird market but they do not limit their “merchandise” to just birds but they also sell all sorts of animals which the I could not think of as “pets”.
