For a village as small as Zhou Zhuang, the Quanfu Temple complex was relatively large and spacious, considering that the alleys of Zhou Zhuang area really very narrow. I guess it complements that open expanse that is the South Lake which borders Zhou Zhuang. There were two major temple buildings in the Quanfu Temple Complex. The one behind is the more interesting one. This one is more visited by the people. I was mistaken, this is a Buddhist temple not a Taoist temple as I originally thought.
There was a large statue of Buddha in the building behind and naturally, a lot of people were praying. There were other religious figures in the building. Interestingly there was this small tower of tiny Buddhist statues all lighted up, making it look like a small Christmas tree. I was relieved to find out that this place is still active and in use. I didn’t see monks in the area though, maybe they live nearby?
