The Shanghai World Financial Center 上海世界金融中心 is one of the tallest buildings I have ever been to. Shanghai is really looking up and there are a lot of developments going on. It is said that Shanghai has more skyscrapers than Manhattan, and I won’t be surprised if it were really true. Shanghai happens to be the home of two of China’s and the world’s tallest buildings. In fact, the second one was just right next door to the Shanghai World Financial Center. It was quite mind boggling that two of the tallest buildings in the world would be sitting right next to each other.
The Jinmao Tower 金茂大厦 is a beautiful building sitting right next door to the Shanghai World Financial Center. Actually I had to walk a bit since there is some space in between the two building. This was quite generous given the limited space here. Actually, the Jinmao Tower can be viewed from the viewing deck of the Shanghai World Financial Center, but the viewing windows were deemed to be too dirty to be of photographic value. It would be an interesting sight to see the Jinmao Tower from above since it is already so tall.
