Walking up or down mountains was never my forte. I love the idea of being “one with nature” and all that but I guess I was just wasn’t built for that kind of stuff. Here were at making our way down the mountain. You would think that going down the mountain will be a piece of cake, but after a while the continuous impact on the knees and the legs muscles trying to cushion the impact is starting to take its toll.
The Western steps is a long path down the mountain and it is sufficiently long enough to make it feel deserted. However, once in a while we would encounter some people walking down the mountain, yes, overtaking us. These were young Chinese kids who would run down the steps at a dangerous pace. Although nothing happened when as they were going down, we would be cautious each time something like that would pass us by since it is a long way down the mountain if something happens.
