The Kuiwen Pavillion is one of the more significant structures in the Confucius Temple grounds. It was built in the year 1018 in the Song dynasty. The pavillion is made out of wood and for its age, it is certainly very impressive. The pavillion retains that ancient and authentic feel since it wasn’t repainted with bright colors. I find these types of structures very interesting since you hardly see them elsewhere.
The Kuiwen Pavillion is considered the best wooden pavillion in the entire country. It was difficult to get a photo of it though since there were a lot of trees in the way. But in a sense the trees help with the atmosphere since the entire building is made out of wood. It is one of the new additions fo the Confucius Temple grounds 1000 years after the death of Confucius. I’m surprised to see that this building it still going strong after all that time.
