The Hall of Heavenly Blessing is the largest hall here in the Dai Temple. As one might expect, this is just as important as it is big. The hall feels like one the halls I saw in the Forbidden Temple, and I was surprised to learn how recently it was built. I guess a thousand years after the construction of the Dai Temple, would count as recent. Built in the early 11th century during the Song Dynasty, it houses one of the most important historical relic here in the Dai Temple.
The Hall of Heavenly Blessing, houses a mural which depicts an inspection by the god of Mount Tai, who coincidentally happens to look like Song Zhenzong the emperor at that time. Unfortunately, the hall was terribly dark and it is not possible to see what is inside. Only the front doors of the hall were open so not a lot of light gets in to illuminate the mural. My friend, who wasn’t much of a tour guide, said she still managed to see the mural in much better conditions when she was young. Using a tripod will not work either, since photography is not allowed inside.
