The Olympic Green area is huge and massive place it really takes a while to get from one end to the other. As a result I got tired just from walking from one spectacular venue to the other. It seems that the Olympic Green area doesn’t stop with the 2008 Summer Games. Most of the structures have already been converted to other uses, the Water Cube has been turned into a water theme park while the Bird’s Nest stadium is planned to be enhanced with more commercial stalls. Already it makes money from just entrance fees alone since thousands visit the place every day.
Some more structures are in the area though. After the National Indoor Stadium, is the huge China National Convention Center 国家会议中心. This building served as the venue for the fencing events as well as the broadcast headquarters for the 2008 Summer Games. These days, it is now a venue for trade shows, conventions and similar events. It is good that these magnificent buildings have found second life after the Olympics. However, people will always remember how China proudly showed how it can march toe to toe with the rest of the world.
