The Hall of Supreme Harmony is one of the three large halls of the Forbidden City. Come to think of it, the Forbidden City is large enough as it is, when someone says something is large in the Forbidden City, it must mean that it is pretty large. And it really was. The Hall of Supreme Harmony has the typical Ming style look which characterizes Chinese architecture. The Hall of Surpreme Harmony is also one of the top attractions in the Forbidden City, as a result it attracts most of the tourists here.
So what exactly is inside the Hall of Supreme Harmony. The hall is used mainly for ceremonial purposes such as the coronation and imperial weddings and thus was built large enough for that purpose. It was not possible to go inside the hall itself but it was open for viewing. There was a throne room as one would expect for a place for coronation. The inside of the hall is decorated with intricate Ming style decorations. The pillars are covered with gold. Emperor Qianlong, with his ever flamboyant attitude, had his handwriting posted just behind the thone.
